I have seen genuinely strong content fail simply because nobody ever saw it and I have seen average content perform far better than expected because it was distributed intelligently and consistently.

From experience SEO no longer rewards content that just exists. Search engines increasingly reward content that is discovered, engaged with, referenced and revisited across multiple platforms. Distribution is what creates those signals. Without it even the best article can sit quietly on your website doing very little.
