SEO for Florists

£350per month, everything included

We pulled 10,003 UK florist keywords to build this page. Two thirds of the demand is decided in the Google map results before anybody reaches a website. So that is where we start, then we build everything behind it.

Here is the number that should decide how you spend your marketing budget. Across the searches we could measure, 63% return a Google map pack, which is 1,898,340 monthly searches settled by three shop listings before a single website is opened. On searches carrying an actual town name it rises to 84%. If your listing is not one of those three, your website barely matters. Fixing that is a completely different job to writing pages. It is where we start.

100 towns, plus how many people are searching

Who Is Looking For You

632,240 monthly searches in this trade carry a place name. Below are the top 100 towns and cities by volume, carrying 379,550 of it between them. Find yours, then read the number beside it as people in your area looking for a florist this month.

London takes 95,760 on its own, 15% of all local demand across 296 separate terms, at an average difficulty of 50. That is why it sits outside the table. It is a market of its own plus it is not the one most shops are fighting in. Everything below is scaled against Birmingham at the top.

Then there is the part the volume does not show you. Across these 100 places the average difficulty is 25, against 50 for London plus seventies and eighties for the national terms. Some of them are close to open ground: Basildon averages 9, Chichester and Dunfermline 11, Farnham 13, Telford 14, Tamworth 15, Bicester and Aylesbury 16, Preston 17, Sutton 17, Stirling 17, Leeds 18, Basingstoke 18, Horsham 18. Those are numbers one shop with the right work behind it can genuinely win.

That is the whole argument for working your own patch properly instead of chasing the words with the biggest figure next to them. Your town is on this list, plus if it is not we will pull it for you.

Top 100 places by volume. Rounded monthly UK figures for florist terms carrying each place name, from a 10,003 term pull. Brand searches for the relay networks plus the supermarkets, floristry courses, artificial flowers plus overseas searches are all stripped out first, so these are people looking for a shop. Another 247 towns and villages carry smaller volumes that did not fit the table. If yours is one of them we will pull it free.

Most florist searches never reach a website

The Finding That Changes The Plan

When we pull keyword data we also record what Google actually shows for each term. In this trade the answer is overwhelming.

63% of the demand we measured returns a map pack. 4,859 terms carrying 1,898,340 monthly searches are answered by three shop listings sitting above everything else. Narrow it to searches with a town name in them plus it climbs to 84%. Somebody types florist plus your town, sees three shops with photographs, star ratings plus a call button, taps one and never scrolls.

Reviews appear in the results for 1,078,850 of those searches. Your star rating is not a badge on your website, it is displayed in the result itself, next to your competitors' ratings, before anybody has read a word you wrote.

Image results appear on 738,000. In a trade where the product is looked at rather than read about, Google is pulling pictures into the results plus most florist websites feed it phone snaps with filenames like IMG_4471.

None of that is fixed by adding pages to a website. It is fixed by work on your listing, your reviews, your photographs, your categories, your citations plus the technical state of your site. That is most of what we actually do. It is also why an agency that only talks about content is selling you a fraction of the job.

Fourteen workstreams, all inside one monthly fee

How Our Service Works

Most agencies sell a florist some content plus a monthly report. Content is one line on this list. Here is everything that runs on your account from the first month, all of it inside the same fee.

01Where Two Thirds Is Won

Google Business Profile And Maps

Primary category corrected, every service listed individually rather than as Flowers, delivery area defined, opening hours right through every peak plus bank holiday, products loaded, attributes set plus posts published weekly. The single highest-return work in the trade, plus it does not touch your website.

02Shown In The Results

A Review Programme, Not Review Hope

Reviews appear in the results on over a million of these searches a month. We set up the asking: a request on the day of delivery, a way to handle the ones that go wrong plus a schedule so recency never lapses. Most shops ask when they remember, which is why their rating stalls.

03Consistency Signals

Citations And Directory Clean-Up

Your name, address plus phone number sitting identically across every directory, listing plus aggregator that carries it. Old addresses, dead numbers plus duplicate listings all corrected. Inconsistency is one of the quietest reasons a shop cannot break into the map pack.

04Every Quarter, Without Asking

Full Technical Site Audit

Crawl errors, broken links, redirect chains, duplicate titles, missing headings, orphan pages, index bloat plus anything blocking Google from reading the site. Run every three months then fixed rather than reported, because a list of problems emailed to a florist is not a service.

05Speed And Mobile

Core Performance Work

Almost all of this traffic is on a phone, frequently on a bad signal outside a hospital or in a car park. We compress images properly, cut what is loading needlessly, fix layout shift plus make the call button reachable with a thumb. Slow florist sites lose orders they already earned.

06738,000 Searches Show Images

Image Optimisation Across The Site

Your own arrangements renamed, described, sized, compressed plus marked up so Google can read them. Most florists have years of beautiful work with meaningless filenames. In a visual trade with image results on this much demand, that is money on the floor.

07Machine Readable

Schema Markup Throughout

LocalBusiness, opening hours, delivery area, products, reviews plus FAQ markup applied across the site so search engines and AI assistants read facts instead of guessing at them. Applied to every page we build or touch, not just the homepage.

08The Architecture

Internal Linking Structure

Occasion pages linked to a hub, the hub linked back to the service page, related pages linked to each other plus everything pointing authority where it earns. Free to do, entirely within our control plus neglected on nearly every florist site we audit.

09The Content Layer

Occasion And Topic Clusters

Same day, funerals, weddings, birthdays, Christmas, Mother's Day, corporate plus events, each given a real page rather than a paragraph, supported by informational content that builds the authority the commercial pages need.

10Turning Visits Into Orders

CTAs And Sales Funnels On Ranking Pages

Once a page ranks the job changes. We add the calls to action, the order routes plus the enquiry paths that turn a visitor into a sale. A page that ranks and converts nothing is a vanity metric, so we treat it as unfinished work.

11Fixing What Is Already There

Rebuilding Pages That Do Not Rank

Every site arrives with pages that earn nothing. We identify them, then rewrite, merge or redirect rather than leaving dead weight sitting there. Frequently the fastest gain available in the first quarter.

12Included, Not Extra

Website Management And Development

We build the pages, make the changes plus look after the site. No waiting on a separate web person, no change requests sitting in a queue, no invoice for a new page before a peak. If the site needs work to rank, the work is inside the fee.

13The Newer Front Door

AI Optimisation

People now ask assistants to find a florist who can deliver locally today. Those tools read structured facts plus prefer information they can verify. We make your delivery area, cut-off times, services plus reviews readable to them, then keep them consistent everywhere they are checked.

14Where Your Work Belongs

Social Media, Two Posts A Week

Facebook, Instagram plus LinkedIn managed rather than abandoned. Your arrangements posted consistently, peaks promoted ahead of time plus the content reused on the website so it earns twice instead of disappearing down a feed.

Plus a written update every three weeks so you always know what has been done, a full audit every quarter plus monthly reporting on positions, map visibility, enquiries and calls. One fee, no add-ons, nothing billed separately.

488,060 searches a month you are never going to win

Where We Will Not Spend Your Money

Of the 3,740,810 searches in the raw pull, 425 terms carrying 488,060 a month are brand searches. People typing the name of a relay network, an online bouquet company or a supermarket. That is 13% of the whole market gone before we start, plus no local shop is taking any of it.

Another 254 terms are not floristry at all: courses, jobs, artificial flowers, seeds, flower meanings plus balloons. 260 more come from overseas. Altogether 618,780 monthly searches, 17% of the dataset, that a florist cannot service.

This matters because it is exactly what a bad agency sells you. A report showing three and a half million searches in your market looks impressive plus it is close to meaningless. We strip it first, tell you what came out, then work from the 3,122,030 that remain, with the winnable ground identified inside that.

What people are actually searching for

The Demand Behind Each Occasion

Nobody wakes up wanting a florist. They want flowers for something. Here is the verified monthly demand behind each reason, with average difficulty alongside so you can see which ones are reachable.

The Valentine's trap. These are twelve month averages. A search that happens 30,000 times in one February week plus almost never otherwise averages out to a small monthly number, which makes the biggest day in your year look like the smallest opportunity on this page. Any agency reading this dataset flat will under-invest in your single most profitable week. We build the calendar from your own trading pattern rather than from an annual average, then work backwards from each date.

Four steps, then we keep going every month

Getting Started

STEP 01

We audit everything first

Your site, your listing, your citations, your reviews plus your competitors' map positions in your own town. Then we pull the keyword data for your catchment plus strip the brand and off-topic terms out of it.

STEP 02

We fix the map before the website

Two thirds of this demand never reaches a website, so the listing, the categories, the photographs, the citations plus the review process come first. This is also the fastest movement you will see.

STEP 03

We build the site out around your calendar

Technical fixes, images, schema plus internal linking, then the occasion pages in the order your trading year demands rather than the order they appear on a list.

STEP 04

We keep going, plus you always know

An update every three weeks, a full audit every quarter, reporting monthly plus CTAs added to pages as they start ranking. Nothing here is a one-off project.

SEO for florists, answered

Frequently Asked

Is this just adding pages to my website?
No, plus pages are a small part of it. Our own data on this trade says 63% of the demand is settled in the Google map pack before anybody reaches a website, rising to 84% on searches with a town name in them. So the work starts with your listing, your categories, your delivery area, your photographs, your citations plus a proper review process. Alongside that runs a full technical audit every quarter, image optimisation, schema markup, internal linking, speed and mobile work, rebuilding pages that do not rank, adding calls to action to pages that do, website development, AI optimisation plus your social accounts. Fourteen workstreams in total, all inside the same fee.
Why does the map pack matter more than my website?
Because it sits above everything else plus it answers the question on the spot. Somebody searching florist plus their town sees three shops with photographs, star ratings plus a call button. A large share of them tap one of those three and never scroll. Reviews show in the results on more than a million of these searches a month, so your rating is competing publicly before anybody reads a word of your site. Your website still matters enormously for occasions, weddings plus everything researched rather than grabbed, which is why we do both.
What is the most winnable ground for a shop like mine?
Your own town, plus the low difficulty occasions. In our dataset the town-level terms average a difficulty in the high teens to low twenties in places like Preston, Leeds, Basingstoke, Bradford, Swindon and Watford, on volumes between four and nine thousand searches a month. Compare that to the national terms in the fifties and eighties. On occasions, Christmas averages 23 plus funerals average 25, both on real volume. Those are the pages that move first, which is why we build them before the contested ones.
Valentine's Day is our biggest week. Why is it so small in your figures?
Because those figures are twelve month averages plus Valentine's happens on one day. A term searched 30,000 times in a single February week and almost never otherwise averages down to a small monthly number, so a flat reading of the data makes your most profitable week look like your smallest opportunity. It is the single most misleading number in this trade. We build your calendar from your own trading pattern instead, then work backwards from each date so pages are live, linked and aged well before the demand arrives rather than during it.
Can I really compete with the big flower delivery brands?
Not on their brand names, plus we will not spend your money trying. In the raw data, 425 terms carrying 488,060 monthly searches are people typing the name of a relay network, an online bouquet company or a supermarket. That is 13% of the market that no local shop is taking. Where you win is your own town plus the jobs they cannot do: same day delivery from a shop that is ten minutes away, a funeral tribute to a named chapel this afternoon, a wedding consultation, your own arrangements photographed rather than a stock bouquet.
How much does it cost plus what do I get for it?
£350 a month for one shop plus your delivery area, with all fourteen workstreams included: Google Business Profile and Maps, reviews, citations, quarterly technical audits, speed and mobile work, image optimisation, schema, internal linking, occasion pages, CTAs and funnels, rebuilding underperforming pages, website management and development, AI optimisation plus social media. No setup fee, nothing billed separately plus no charge for a new page before a peak. Larger plans cover wider catchments and multi-shop operations. Worth comparing against what local SEO typically costs.
