SEO for Tree Surgeons
We get you found by the people who need a tree down, a crown reducing or a stump out. Your Google listing, your reviews, a page for every job you take on, your website plus your social accounts. Fourteen jobs, one fee, from £350 a month with no setup charge.
Who Is Looking For You
Every month, people all over the country type your services into Google. We counted it for 200 towns, cities and counties. Put yours in below and see how many are looking, how you compare with the places around you plus how hard the job would be.
200 places counted. If yours is not listed, tell us and we will pull it for you.
How it compares nearby
That is the demand sitting in your patch every month. We can tell you who is picking it up today plus what it would take to be the firm they ring instead.
We have not counted that one yet
Try a nearby larger town. You can also try a county such as Kent or Cheshire. The 200 places above are the busiest ones. There are hundreds more with smaller numbers behind them, plus every single one of them has somebody searching in it.
Send us the name of your patch and we will count it properly, by service, then send it over. You get that whether you go ahead with us or not.
Rounded monthly searches in the UK for tree work carrying each place name, taken from a pull of 10,003 search terms. The 200 places counted here carry 102,770 searches a month between them, with a further 89 places carrying another 5,100. Training courses, job hunting, kit and insurance sold to the trade plus everything we refuse to work on are all taken out before counting. Nearly nine in ten of these searches are settled in the map rather than on a website, so the listing work comes first. Numbers change month to month, so treat these as the size of the prize rather than a promise.
Why The Map Decides It
When we look at a trade we record what Google actually puts on the screen, not just how many people are searching. Tree work came back with the most one sided answer we have ever recorded.
Google shows a map with three businesses in it on 89% of the demand we could measure. The previous record holder was gas engineers at 69%. Heating and ventilation sat at 41%. Asbestos at 37%. Nothing has come close to this.
Break it down and it barely varies. Tree removal searches return a map every single time. So do pruning, crown work and felling. So does emergency and storm damage. Stump grinding 97%. Near me searches 96%. Somebody looking for a tree surgeon by name and town, 88%.
Picture the customer. A limb has come down across a drive after a windy night. They stand in the garden, get their phone out, type tree surgeon plus their town, get a map with three names on it plus a row of star ratings. They ring one, probably two. They never scroll, they never open a website, they never see the page you paid somebody to build. If you are not in that three, you did not exist that morning.
This is why we start with your Google listing rather than your website. The categories, the service area, the hours, the photos of real jobs, the review flow plus the posts. It is the cheapest work in the whole service to do properly and in your trade it is worth more than everything else put together.
One part of your trade works the opposite way. Anybody asking what tree work costs gets no map at all. Every single one of those searches returns an answer written straight onto the results page instead. Cost is also the softest ground in your whole file after emergency work, which makes it frustrating and important at the same time. A real price page, written so a machine can lift it cleanly, is the only way to win that half.
The Numbers Behind The Trade
The one worth acting on: London takes only 6% of the demand that names a place. Almost every trade we measure is dominated by a handful of cities. Yours is not, which means your town is genuinely winnable.
How Our Service Works
Most agencies sell a tree surgeon some content plus a monthly report. Content is one line on this list. Here is everything that runs on your account from the first month, all of it inside the same fee.
Google Business Profile And Maps
Primary category corrected, every service listed on its own rather than lumped under Landscaper, service area drawn properly for a team with a chipper, hours right including storm callouts, plus posts published weekly. In your trade this is worth more than everything else on this list put together.
A Review Programme, Not Review Hope
Somebody letting a crew take a mature tree down beside their house reads reviews first. A request after every job, a route for the ones that go wrong plus a schedule so recency never lapses over a quiet spell and leaves you looking finished.
Citations And Directory Clean-Up
Your name, address plus phone number identical across every directory, trade listing plus aggregator that carries it. Old addresses, dead numbers plus duplicate listings corrected. One of the quietest reasons a firm cannot break into the map.
Full Technical Site Audit
Crawl errors, broken links, redirect chains, duplicate titles, missing headings, orphan pages plus anything blocking Google from reading the site. Run every three months then fixed rather than reported, because a list of problems emailed to a contractor is not a service.
Core Performance Work
Nearly all of this happens on a phone, often by somebody standing in a garden looking at something they are worried about. We compress images, cut what is loading needlessly, fix layout shift plus make the call button reachable with a thumb. Slow sites lose calls you already earned.
Case Studies And Job Photography
Before, during and after on real jobs. A sectional dismantle over a conservatory, a crown reduction on a listed oak, a stump out of a lawn left tidy. No trade produces better photographs than yours plus almost none of them ever reach a website or a listing.
Schema Markup And AI Optimisation
LocalBusiness, service area, qualifications held, services, reviews plus FAQ markup throughout, so search engines and AI assistants read your facts rather than guessing. This matters most on the cost pages, where Google answers on the results page every single time.
Internal Linking Structure
Job pages linked to a hub, the hub linked back to the service page, related pages linked to each other plus everything pointing authority where it earns. Free to do, entirely within our control plus neglected on nearly every tree surgeon's site we audit.
A Page Per Job You Take
Tree removal, sectional felling, crown reduction and thinning, pollarding, deadwooding, stump grinding, hedge cutting, site clearance plus storm callouts. Each given a real page rather than a line on a services list, because Google cannot rank you for a job you have not written about.
CTAs And Sales Funnels On Ranking Pages
Once a page ranks the job changes. We add the calls to action, the enquiry routes plus the photo upload paths that let somebody send a picture of the tree instead of trying to describe it. A page that ranks and converts nothing is unfinished work.
Rebuilding Pages That Do Not Rank
Every site arrives with pages that earn nothing. We identify them, then rewrite, merge or redirect rather than leaving dead weight sitting there. Frequently the fastest gain available in the first quarter.
Website Management And Development
We build the pages, make the changes plus look after the site. No waiting on a separate web person, no change requests in a queue, no invoice for a new page when you add a service. If the site needs work to rank, the work is inside the fee.
Protected Tree And Permission Pages
Tree Preservation Orders, conservation areas, the six week notice, what a council actually wants in an application plus how long it takes. Written as a service you provide on the customer's behalf rather than as advice on getting round anything. Almost nobody in your trade has these pages.
Social Media, Managed
Managed rather than abandoned, with the content reused on the website plus the Google listing so it earns three times over. Your work is naturally watchable, which makes this the easiest trade we handle to post well for.
Plus a written update every three weeks so you always know what has been done, a full audit every quarter plus monthly reporting on positions, map visibility, enquiries and calls. One fee, no add-ons, nothing billed separately.
Where We Will Not Spend Your Money
On most landing pages this section is where we explain how much of a trade's keyword data is worthless. Yours barely needs one. The raw pull shows 406,410 searches a month and we only stripped out 16% of it.
For comparison, we throw away 41% of an asbestos file, 45% of a heating and ventilation file plus 58% of a gas engineer file. Nothing we have measured comes back this clean. The reason is simple. Nobody types the words tree surgeon unless they need one. There is no register everybody is trying to log into, no national chain swallowing the searches, no enormous product market sitting on top of the service.
What did come out is 19,510 searches a month from people who want to become a tree surgeon rather than hire one, chasing courses, tickets and salaries. Then 10,770 for insurance, chainsaws, chippers plus climbing kit, which is the trade being sold to rather than selling. A handful of misspellings plus the single word on its own.
Three things we leave out on principle rather than because they are useless. We will not publish do-it-yourself felling, climbing or chainsaw guidance under your name, because that puts instructions for the most dangerous work in your trade in front of somebody with a hire shop saw and no training. We will not write neighbour and boundary dispute content, since who owns an overhanging branch is a legal question that needs a solicitor rather than your blog. We will not publish anything that reads as a way round a Tree Preservation Order or wildlife law, because bats, nesting birds plus protected trees are criminal matters. We will happily explain how an application works, since that is a service you sell.

The Demand Behind Each Job
Most people search for a tree surgeon and a town rather than for a job. When they do name the job, here is how much of it there is, how hard it is to win out of 100, plus how often Google shows a map instead of a list of websites.
Why the job groups look small. They are small because this trade searches differently from every other one we have measured. People do not type crown reduction, they type tree surgeon plus their town and then explain the job on the phone. That is why 225,500 of the 341,650 real searches sit in one group at the top of this list, plus why the local work matters here more than the service pages ever will.
Getting Started
We fix the listing first
Categories, services, service area, hours, photos plus the review flow. In your trade nearly nine in ten searches are settled here, so it is where we start rather than where we finish.
We pull your own numbers
Your towns, your service lines, with how hard each one is to win. Course hunters, kit buyers plus everything we refuse to work on stripped out before anybody sets a target.
We build the site out
A page for every job you take, the cost pages written as clear factual answers, the protected tree pages nobody else has, the technical faults fixed plus your work photographed and marked up properly.
We keep at it
An update every three weeks, a full audit every quarter, monthly reporting plus calls to action added to pages as they start ranking. Nothing here is a one-off project.
Run The Arithmetic
Drag the sliders to your own numbers. If you are after grounds contracts rather than one-off calls, use the value of a year of that customer rather than a single visit. This is a rough illustration to think with, not a promise of results.
Illustration only. Real results depend on your area, your competition and your business. We do not guarantee positions, enquiries or contracts.
Simple Pricing
All fourteen workstreams are in every plan. The tiers change the size of the area plus the volume of work, not the list of what you get.
