Ranking keywords
Figures are taken from Semrush for the habitatlandscape.co.uk domain in the UK database, plotted from daily readings between 1 December 2024 and 10 May 2026. Organic traffic in Semrush is an estimate based on ranking positions and search volumes rather than a count of visits.
The Starting Point
Habitat Landscapes had nothing in search. No traffic, no rankings and nothing for Google to work with.
Garden design and build is a considered purchase. Nobody books a garden on impulse, so the work had to reach people at the point they were still thinking about it rather than only those already looking for a company by name.
It is also seasonal. Interest in gardens climbs through spring and falls away in winter, which shows up plainly on the chart.
What We Did
The same local SEO process we run for every client.
Site audit
We audited the website and the Google Business Profile first, so the work started from what the site actually had rather than what it was assumed to have.
Keyword research and topical clusters
We mapped what people search for around garden design, landscaping and the individual jobs that go with them, then grouped those searches into clusters. Each cluster has a landing page for the service, a hub page for the subject and informational pages beneath it.
Informational pages
We published pages answering the questions people ask while they are still planning. Pages like these bring people to a site who are months away from booking anybody.
Schema and internal linking
Every page carries structured data and links to the others in its cluster, to its hub page and to the landing page it supports. That tells search engines what the company does, where it works and how the pages relate to each other.
Google Maps
The Google Business Profile was optimised alongside the website, with the categories, services and business details matched to what the site says.
Audits every three months
The site was audited every three months across the campaign. Pages that ranked were given clear calls to action. Pages that did not rank were rebuilt rather than left sitting there.
What the Chart Shows
Five months of nothing. The first traffic registers in May 2025, then the line climbs steadily through the autumn and hard through the winter into 2026.
The two charts stop moving together in the spring of 2026. Keyword numbers peaked at 2,113 in March and eased back, while traffic carried on rising to 4,171 by 10 May. They measure different things. What matters is where a site ranks for the searches that bring people in, not how many searches it turns up for somewhere.
Anyone promising results in the first month should be asked to show a chart like this one.
