Six Months of Local SEO for a New Bedford Accountancy Practice
Towerstone Accountants came to us as a new firm with no website and no search presence at all. We built the site, structured it for search and ran a local SEO campaign from December 2024 to June 2025. Here is what happened over those six months.
The Results
Towerstone started from nothing. A brand new domain, a brand new website and a firm nobody was searching for by name. Six months later the site was pulling an estimated 20,351 organic visits a month and ranking for 14,437 keywords.

Ranking keywords
Figures are taken from Semrush for the towerstone.co.uk domain, measured at the start of the campaign in December 2024 and at the end of it in June 2025. Organic traffic in Semrush is an estimate based on ranking positions and search volumes rather than a count of visits.
The Starting Point
Towerstone was a new accountancy practice in Bedford. There was no website, no domain history and nothing for Google to rank. Every established firm in the town had years of content, reviews and links behind it.
A new site has one advantage. Nothing has to be undone. There is no old structure to unpick, no thin pages to rebuild and no legacy URLs to redirect. Everything can be built the way it needs to be from the first page.
That is how we approached it. The website and the search campaign were designed together rather than one being bolted onto the other.
What We Did
This is the same local SEO process we run for every client. On a new site it simply gets applied from day one instead of being retrofitted.
Built the website for search
The site was built on Squarespace with the page structure decided before any design work started. Services, locations and subjects each got their own place in the site rather than being squeezed into a handful of pages.
Keyword research and topical clusters
We mapped what people in and around Bedford search for when they need an accountant, then grouped those searches into clusters. Each cluster has a landing page for the service, a hub page for the subject and informational pages beneath it.
Informational pages
Alongside the service pages we published pages answering the questions people ask before they choose an accountant. Pages like these bring people to a site who are not yet searching for a firm by name.
Schema and internal linking
Every page carries structured data and links to the others in its cluster, to its hub page and to the landing page it supports. That tells search engines what the firm does, where it does it and how the pages relate to each other.
Google Maps
The Google Business Profile was set up and optimised alongside the website, with the categories, services and business details matched to what the site says.
Audits and reviews
The site was audited as the campaign ran. Pages that ranked were given clear calls to action so visitors had a reason to get in touch. Pages that did not rank were rebuilt rather than left sitting there.
